We hold 'try dive' sessions on Wednesdays in February and September. They tend to be very popular. It is a time where people who have never tried the sport before can experience the weightlessness and exhilaration of being able to breathe underwater accompanied by a very qualified and experienced Dive Instructor for very minimal cost. We supply all the equipment necessary, you just have to supply yourself.

Try Dive, February 2008: The next trydive has been organised for the 06th February. . More details on the poster below. Click here for more information and to see the poster.

MVSAC club members presenting the cheque to Ian TaylorMole Valley Sub Aqua Club Raise £1,000.00 for the RNLI: On Sunday the 2nd September members of the Mole Valley Sub Aqua Club presented a cheque for £1,000.00 to the crew of the RNLI lifeboat in Weymouth. The cheque was accepted by Deputy 2nd Coxswain Ian Taylor. After the presentation Ian and his crew gave the Mole Valley Sub Aqua Club members a comprehensive tour of the Severn class lifeboat.

MVSAC chose the Weymouth lifeboat as the club frequently dives in this very popular diving area.

MVSAC members on Shoreham beach at the end of their 42 mile sponsored bike rideThe money was raised over several events at the local sub aqua club including raffles and sponsorship from a 42 mile bike ride from Guildford to Shoreham undertaken by 21 members of the club in August. MVSAC are holding their annual “Try a Dive” on the 19th September at Leatherhead Leisure Centre at 19.45. The try dive allows complete beginners and existing divers to meet the club members and get the chance to try diving in the main swimming pool at Leatherhead. If you are interested in knowing more about the club you can look at the Try Dive web page here or phone the training officer Bryan on 07905 019372. There is a PDF download of the information here.

HMS Northcoates, MVSAC's adopted wreck: We have adopted a wreck originally known as 'The Armed Trawler' off the south coast of England, reached by launching from Littlehampton. All the information that is known about this wreck can be found on this page. The project and the drive behind it has been spearheaded by Steve Franck our ex-Special Projects Officer, so if you have any questions, or more information to tell him (and therefore us, as all info will be placed on the page) make sure you email him.

Nitrox Charts & Calculators: As Nitrox is getting more and more popular both in the club and in the dive fraternity in general, we have made available a few tools to ease the work involved in calculating max depths and suitable gas mixes. You can find the page with the links here. If you are planning your dives from your desk there are four web pages that allow you to calculate a number of different things, best mix for your dive, maximum operating depth, equivalent air depth and oxygen partial pressures at a chosen depth. All tools are ©Xavier Merlin. If you are away from your computer Mark Powell has produced a printable set of pages with reference charts. They are available in PDF and a password modify-protected Excel spreadsheet. The above information should only be used by Nitrox trained divers, but much of it is good reference material when planning dives that include Nitrox divers, or if you are about to buddy a nitrox diver.

If you have any comments, suggestions, broken link information, content, link exchange ideas, or even if you want a friendly ear to listen to your opinion, email the club by clicking here. We will invite you down the pub, buy you a drink and bore you to death with tales of diving fun and social excess (images of previous events can be found here)

A SCUBA club based in Leatherhead with almost 100 members. For almost 25 years we have been training people of all abilities to dive, allowing them to enjoy this exhilarating sport safely. The training sessions start twice yearly with a try-dive, in February and September. The diving season in the UK is typically from March until October, but our members often supplement that with overseas and specialist diving pursuits.
