Nitrox Charts and Calculations

Linked below are two files in two formats (PDF & Excel) to help you calculate the correct mix, dependent on your depth, or indeed, the correct maximum depth dependent on your mix. The first has been put together by our resident Technical Diver, Mark Powell, the second with some added charts has been consolidated by Steve Franck. If you have any questions I suggest you give them an email. For your information, the XLS versions are password protected and read-only open, to ensure that changes are not made to it accidentally. Due to the very nature of the information included in these files, only suitably Nitrox qualified divers should use the information supplied.

Best Mix Calculator

The script below calculates the optimum (highest allowable Oxygen content) of a nitrox mixture given the Oxygen partial pressure limit (p.p.02, in atmospheres) and operating depth (in metres of salt water) . Metric version only.

Equivalent Air Depth

The script below calculates the equivalent air depth (EAD, in meter of salt water) of a nitrox mixture given the fractional oxygen content (FO2) and operating depth (also in metres of salt water). Metric version only.

Maximum Operating Depth

The script below calculates the maximum operating depth (MOD, in metres of salt water) of a nitrox mixture given the fractional oxygen content (FO2) and oxygen partial pressure limit (p.p.O2 limit) in atmospheres. Metric version only

Oxygen Partial Pressure

The script below calculates the partial pressure of Oxygen (p.p.O2, in atmospheres) of a nitrox mixture given the fractional oxygen content (FO2) and operating depth (in metre of salt water). Metric version only
